The project was to replace an outdated conservatory, transforming the old unused conservatory into a functional living space that can be used year-round. With the removal of the load bearing dividing wall and the addition of the modern extension the new layout created an open plan kitchen, living dining space with 2 pairs of bi-folding doors open out onto a patio area linking the open plan living space to the garden beyond. Additional light was achieved by the use of 2 skylights provided within a vaulted ceiling.
The house’s ground floor has been transformed into a light, open space that is also cosy where needed, particularly in the lounge area. There is both a formal dining space and a breakfast bar for more casual dining, which can seat at least 3 people.
The view of the garden has been maximised by 2 pairs of bi-folding doors access to the garden is generous from both living space and kitchen, which also link seamlessly together while still feeling like separate zones.
